    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

When I Grow Up…

I am going to recruit help in setting up my house!  I have spent the last 3 days endlessly working on setting up my apartment and am completely EXHAUSTED.  P.S. Sorry for not being able to make any posts or updates lately…SOOOOO busy!  However, I must say that the place is turning out beautiful and much progress has been made.  It’s hard to believe that in just a few more days we will all be heading back to school.  I hope everyone is settling into their new places and adjusting to the college lifestyle!

Here are a couple tips for move in:

  • Ask for help!  Don’t try to be a hero and do all of the lifting and moving yourself.  The last thing you want is a back injury before you start classes.  See those buff football players running around campus?  Ask them for help.  They will be glad to lend you a hand.
  • Be accepting of your roommates and their living styles.  Everyone is different and requires different conditions.  However, if you are experiencing problems with your roommates (after a few days) and they are not receptive to your needs in addition to their own, contact your RA or Res Life and they will be more than willing to help you.
  • Take breaks when unpacking.  Go out for some pizza with your roommates or go for a run to clear your head.  Trying to unpack everything in one sitting will drive you crazy.

Can’t wait to start the year up.  See you soon!
