    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

What’s Next?

Happy Holidays everyone!  I hope, for those who celebrate Christmas, that yesterday was fantastic and very blessed.  After we all settle in from all of the holiday goodies and spirits we consumed and think ahead to what’s to come, we remember….NEW YEARS!   Some of us will be in Duluth for the festivities, while others will be staying home and celebrating at their local bars and landmarks.  So, here are some exciting New Years extravaganzas, for both Duluth and the surrounding areas:

Masquerade Bash:  Taking place at Sir Benedicts on Dec 31st and beginning at 9:00 pm.  Live music and dancing for all!

New Year’s Ball: Taking place at Dubh Linn Irish Pub and beginning at 8:00 pm.  Cover is $15.

This is a semi-formal affair that starts with homemade appetizers and includes fire dancers, magicians, djs, dancing and over $2000 in prizes.

Dance to End Abuse: Barker’s Island Inn at 7:00 pm.  Cover is $40-45, but with a great cause!

The Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse holds its third annual New Year’s Eve party with music by Ol’ Yeller, a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, games and a cash bar. All proceeds benefit CASDA.

Skating at the Depot in Minneapolis:

If skating in circles tickles your fancy, lace up your blades, grab a date, and head to the Depot—open late until 1 a.m.

(My Personal Favorite) Hairball at the Myth Nightclub:

Coverband Hairball takes on the biggest rock legends of the ’80s (and their hair) to rock your New Year’s Eve with spandex, leather, and their outrageous personas. Get ready for a flashback with songs from artists like AC/DC, Whitesnake. Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Poison, and more
