    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Welcome Back to the Neighborhood!

Today I will be moving from my family’s home in Ely back down to my apartment in Duluth! I absolutely cannot wait to be back and to begin my very last year of college. The process of packing and unloading is of course the most exhausting part of moving to a new home, and this time around was no exception! I am already sore as can be, and I haven’t even had to unload yet! (Pictures to follow… haha).

Although I live off campus, I am still very close with my neighbors, just as you tend to grow close to your nearby neighbors when you live in dorms or apartments on campus. In fact, I talk to my neighbors almost everyday. Some of them are older (in their 50s and 60s), while some of them are college students like me. I have come to realize over the past year that I have lived in my apartment that the old saying “Wisdom comes with age” is so very true. My very favorite neighbors are the ones who are more seasoned and have lived in their homes for quite some time. They know all of the secrets of saving money at home, juggling work and a busy schedule, and just dealing with daily obstacles that may come along. They have developed into my mentors, my supporters, and my watchful eyes during the school year, making them indispensable. I can’t wait to see and share some wonderful stories once again! 🙂
