    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Welcome Back!

Hey everyone!  I hope your first day of class was fantastic and that you are getting settled back in on campus or at your off-campus home.  It feels so funny for me to be in my final semester of my senior year and to not be at school anymore for all of these exciting transitions!  I will only be stopping by on Wednesdays for a night class that is mandatory during student teaching, and other than that I am at my elementary school full time.  If I don’t end up seeing you much during the next four months, that is why!

Today was a good one for me and the kiddos.  I did a lot of assessments in math and reading with them today (since their progress reports are due on Thursday).  They work so hard and try their best during these, so I was very proud of them!  Other than that, we enjoyed a chilly day inside working on the letter “O” and doing writing activities about what they enjoy doing on a wintry day.  I also introduced them to the count by 5’s song, which they loved!  They actually wanted to do it again (since it involves a lot of dancing around and singing) and were begging me by the end. haha.  Then, we enjoyed reading Owl Moon for our read aloud today before the kids had nap time.  They enjoyed making “whoo” sounds with me and checking to see if the characters would catch an owl!

Off to do some planning and hopefully get some early sleep.  Hope reading through the first day syllabi and chilling with the roommates goes well for everyone 🙂
