    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Valentine’s Day

Looking for that extra special Valentine’s Day gift to give the person you adore, but not quite sure what to get them?  Relax!  Everything is going to be okay.  I have a few easy (and cheap!) suggestions for some great gifts ideas.  If you don’t think they will work for your valentine, I bet you will be able to cross a few friends or close acquaintances off the list at least!

  • Make them a special meal.  Nothing says I love you like a homecooked meal made by the person you care for.  There are sooo many great recipe ideas and tips for creating dishes and drinks that are Valentine-themed.  A few sites you may want to check out are foodnetwork.com, allrecipes.com, and especially the ever-popular pinterest.com.  There are so many great ideas on these sites!
  • Make them a card or picture.  Buying someone a card for Valentine’s Day is sweet, but making one with your own two hands and creativity is even more special!  That will be up on the refrigerator for weeks for the originality and love you put into it.  Trust me.
  • Clean up.  I love it when people decide to spontaneously clean up for me.  After a long day of work or sitting through classes, this is one of the best gifts that can be received.
  • Choose a sweet movie and have a romantic movie night.  I love having a good night in to just relax, kick back, and enjoy a sappy flick.  If you can find a romantic comedy or drama to watch with your love (and maybe a sweet dessert to enjoy together), you will get some major approval points.
  • Go dancing.  This is an overlooked (yet adorable) gesture for any couple.  There is nothing cuter (or more romantic) than getting a chance to dance in a non-bar scene.  Heck, even if it’s just in a living room or another open space in the house, you will be praised with your adorable spontaneity.

Good luck and happy schmoozing to all of you love birds out there! 😉
