    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Tuesday Away!

Woke up this morning still feeling a little crummy (evidently my resting tactics from Sunday haven’t been paying off for me yet!).  I went to school to teach yesterday and was just beginning to feel a little stuffy and drowsy, but today after I woke up this morning, I can’t breathe at all!  But worst of all, my taste buds are all messed up, so nothing tastes right to me!  I hate that more than anything else that comes from a cold.  No fun at all.  However, today is going to be a pretty big day at school, so I really need to just deal with the uckies for and be tough.

Conferences are tonight for the students, and my master teacher and myself will be holding eleven of them (practically back to back!) tonight.  It is going to be intense I feel, mostly due to the fact that I am co-hosting them and will have to aid in giving feedback and progress to parents.  This is a very difficult thing to do when you have only known a group of children for a little less than a month!  Yet,  I feel that I have gotten to know the kids pretty well and have a good idea of their abilities and tendencies in this amount of time.  It is a pretty realistic time frame for conferences if you think about it in terms of starting out the year and having an open house.  Teachers don’t yet know much about their kiddos at that time either!  So I am just going ahead with confidence and excitement to meet all of  the parents of my students and to spend time getting to know their backgrounds and interests.

I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday and that the school day goes by quickly (I will be stuck at my school til 7:00 tonight!  Woofta.).
