    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Top Choices to End Your Week

For many of us, today is the last day before going home and celebrating the wonderful Easter weekend with friends and family.  However, some of us will be staying in Duluth over break and celebrating the holiday locally.  While Sunday is reserved as a day for rest and celebration this weekend, many events are taking place on Friday and Saturday that are well-worth attending if you are sticking around!  Here are some cool choices for starting off your Easter Weekend on the right foot:

  • Saint Scholastica’s baseball boys will be playing a double header this weekend at Wade Stadium against Minnesota Morris.  Admission is free.  Games start at 6:00 pm on Friday and 12:00 pm on Saturday.
  • On Friday at the Duluth YMCA, there will be an “Easter kick-off” from 6:00-7:30 complete with an Easter egg hunt….IN A POOL!
  • Dubh Linn will be having open mic night on Friday starting at 9:30 pm.  Always lots of interesting characters to see and new talent to be had!  Then, on Saturday, Chris Barnes will be featured (who has worked with greats like Bill Cosby!) and Jamie Blanchard will throw out some comedy of his own.
  • On Saturday night at Clyde Iron Works, Captain May 1 will be playing.  Never heard of them?  Well, here’s a hint. Members of this group are from Hairball and 10,000 Days, to name a few.  What type of music will it be? Rock without a doubt!

Regardless of where you will be for the holiday break, have fun, be safe, and enjoy it!
