Summer = Must. Make. $$.
Starting to think about that summer break? The beach, the sun, the grass, the…..summer job? Oh yeah…that. We are all in college, and if there is one thing that college students know about, it’s trying to find work in the summer that will yield enough money to get us through the upcoming school year. Some of us know exactly where we will be living during the summer and what jobs are available to us, but some do not. Maybe you are one of the individuals teetering on the Duluth/home edge, not sure exactly what to do. Well, to aid in your decision (or at least your thinking), here are some job ideas for summer college students:
- Hostessing/Bussing
- Waitressing (great tip benefits!)
- Bartending (although sometimes this requires some prior experience)
- Camp counseling (there are tons of people up in Ely who make great money doing this)
- Babysitting
- Childcare assistant
- Bank telling (you can actually make above average wages if you are a college student and/or have finance experience)
- Telemarketing (yes, annoying, but pays decent)
- Hotel front desk/ bellboy/ cleaning (this will let you meet lots of interesting tourists and possibly even a celebrity or two!)
- Stadium sales/ admission (this is for the sports junky!)
Looking for some sites to help you out in your search? The following are some databases that cater to any area. Just pop in your zip code and you’re good to go.
