    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

My New Favorite

In terms of retail in Duluth, we really have a pretty large selection of places to choose from to satisfy our shopping itch.  We have a mall with a great selection of stores, Target, Walmart, TJ Maxx, Kohls, Shopko, and many other smaller locations that cater to our needs.  However, one thing that people often forget when it comes to shopping, especially for clothes, is how many amazing stores there are in Duluth who offer secondhand goods at WAY cheaper prices than the leading retailers.

Stores such as Plato’s Closet, Savers, and Goodwill are all great thrifty places to pick up cheaper clothes and miscellaneous items for next to nothing.  One terrific secondhand shop that has become my “new favorite” here in Duluth is the consignment shop Dannie Duluth on 4th Street.  If you’re a girl and haven’t been there before, you should really really check it out!  It is located in an older building near the Ski Hut and is literally filled with great clothing options.  Everything is clean, upscale, and best of all, ridiculously well-priced.  There is a sale going on there almost everyday, so you always get an excellent deal.  If you aren’t a fan of most retail stores’ hustle and bustle (aka having a million bodies shopping in one tiny location at once), say no more.  This place is very quiet and typically only hosts a few shoppers at a time, making your experience much more relaxing and enjoyable.

I challenge you to check it out when you get a chance, if not because you need to update your wardrobe, then to just walk through and observe the selection.  The staff will be welcoming and pleasant, so don’t hesitate to walk right in!
