    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Mayfest: Getting into the spirit

Today marks the very first day of Scholastica’s annual Mayfest week.  In a way, this week serves as the compliment to fall’s Homecoming, but without the football.  Instead, this week will feature a host of different events and culminate in a softball tourney on the Scholastica fields on Sunday.

Here are the events to look for and what this blogger highly recommends attending:

TONIGHT: Casino Night in Storm’s Den.  Begins at 7:00 pm and dress for the event is formal.  Lots of prizes and fun for all…rumor has it a trip for two to Las Vegas is on the line this year?!  Don’t miss out on your opportunity to win.

WEDNESDAY: Reif run will be taking place starting at 2:15 in the Somer’s parking lot.  This will be followed by the traditional all-school BBQ in the Greenview, and the night will end with the crowning of “Mr. CSS” in the Science Auditorium at 7:00.  Did you vote?  Then you should probably be there to show your support!

THURSDAY: Funfest in the Burns Wellness, complete with obstacle courses, cotton candy, and karaoke.  Serves as a super fun break from the normal classes and bore of typical Thursdays…I think you may enjoy it 🙂

FRIDAY: Dance and Johnny Holm Band in the Reif.  Cost is $10 at the door for tickets.  Begins at 9:00 pm…enough said.

SUNDAY: Softball tourney on the fields.  Starts at 8:00 am. Should prove to be a long day, but if you are ready to play and anxious to get your game on, go!  Gonna get competitive.
