    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Market Day Tomorrow!

Tomorrow the University of Minnesota Duluth will be hosting Market Day in the Plaza, the second to last one of the season.  This event is Duluth’s very own local version of a farmer’s market, and conveniently enough, is located right on our neighboring campus!  Each week the event features different vendors’ products as well as music and fun, and if you are looking for some fresh fall produce for good prices, this is the place to get it!

Some of the products featured are:

  • Apples of all varieties
  • Fresh made caramels
  • Farm raised tomatoes
  • Pumpkins
  • Cookies and breads from 3rd Street Bakery
  • Tie-dyed clothing
  • Earrings and necklaces
  • Custom designed purses

There will be other wonderful features, as well, such as seated massages and live music from Greg Tuburzi.  As I stated, this is the second to last one of the season (next Wednesday is the last), and it is a wonderful opportunity to check out and support Duluth’s local farmers and small businesses!  The market will go from 1:30-4:30 right outside the UMD bus hub at Kirby Plaza.  If nothing else, take a walk around the stands and enjoy the music and atmosphere 🙂

For more information on the line-up and expected vendors for tomorrow’s market, check out  http://www.umdmarketday.com/this-week.html
