It’s Monday…so Let’s Look at That Weekend Ahead!
Sometimes I find that the only thing that can get me through the long week ahead is looking forward to what’s coming up for the weekend. It’s a little motivational technique that I think we all learned when we were growing up…for many of us from the time we were in elementary school! Plan out a fun night or two for you and your friends. Then, once you are out enjoying yourself, you are receiving reward for that long week of work!
Some ideas:
Friday
- Live Music. Many places are featuring local bands and musicians for the weekend. On Friday night, Sir Ben’s will be hosting Jefferson St. Jams; Thirsty Pagan will be featuring rock bands Excuse Me, Princess, Thunder Brothers, and Machine 22; at Fitger’s, Actual Wolf will also be playing.
- Comedy nights. Dubh Linn will be featuring a Comedy Open Mic on Friday night, so feel free to stop in to either perform or enjoy the acts.
- See a play. The Duluth Playground will be featuring Avenue Q on Friday night beginning at 7:30 pm.
Saturday
- Get out and move! The Hartley Nature Center is hosting a ski, skate, and snowshoe event from 4-7 pm on their beautiful trails.
- Dance. At the Red Star Lounge in Superior, DJ Brotherman will be throwing down beats beginning at 10 pm. Also, as is custom on every Saturday, Grandma’s Garden will be having a night of music and dancing.
- Ski and Snowboard. The snow is flowing and Spirit Mountain is open to the masses. Get on the slopes and then relax afterwards with some warm drinks.
