    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Are you starting to think about interviewing for an internship, a new part time job, or even a job in your field of study?  I had my first unofficial teaching interview today and before attending, I made sure to go through the interview “checklist.”  What is on this checklist exactly?  Well, I thought it may be helpful to share it with you so that you feel prepared and confident for your next interview, too.

“The List” for Interviewing

____Do you have with you a copy of an updated and thorough resume that covers your academic and community
           involvement and employment?

____Do you have a list of reliable and professional references for your interviewer to contact?

____Do you know who you are meeting with and their affiliation with the company/business?

____Do you know basic and vital information about the company/business?

____Are you dressed appropriately, professionally, and tastefully for the position you are applying for?

____Will you be arriving at least ten minutes prior to your interview?  (This shows your dedication!)

____Will you smile and appear enthusiastic when discussing your potential job?

____Are you confident, excited, and ready to land the job? (YES!)

You are ready!   Go get ’em Tiger!
