    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

How Beautiful is YOUR Weekend?

I had to pick up a pay check and some odds and ends from home this weekend, so I am spending my weekend up in Ely.  Boy, did I luck out!  The weather here, just like Duluth, is absolutely beautiful.  I spent the day out on the dock tanning and doing some reading for class alongside a bunch of fishermen hunting walleye.  Tonight we are planning on building up a fire in the pit and making some smores.  Actually, my little brother is going to pitch a tent in the yard tonight, too.  haha. It still feels so much like summer!  I encourage everyone to get out there and enjoy the weather.  Even if that means just sitting under a tree to do your philosophy homework…it will still be well worth your time!  Before you know it, old man winter will come knocking and then we will have to endure nearly 6 months of cold.  So live it UP…while you can.

P.S. You already finished your first week of classes!  Congratulations, you survived the hardest part of the year!
