    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Hippity Hoppity Easter’s On It’s Way!

I cannot wait for this week to come around!  Not only is it my very last week of full time student teaching (after this week my responsibilities in the classroom will start to get lifted bit by bit), but it’s also the beginning of Holy Week and anticipation for Easter in the upcoming weekend!  Easter is probably one of my very favorite holidays.  Who could really not like fluffy bunnies, chicks, and giant chocolate chickens?

My kiddos this week will be in for a lot of fun in preparation for the holiday season.  They will be doing a little more artwork this week to celebrate lions and lambs, but then will get to jump right into bunnies and Easter-themed projects on Wednesday.  They make a bunny headband to wear around the classroom (we used giant white ears and sweet bunny faces for the kids to decorate).  Then, on Thursday, they will get to make bunny bags to store their Easter treats and surprises that they receive on Friday, when we have the big spring party!  The spring party for these kids is organized by an AMAZING team of parents from the classroom, and they essentially will come in on Friday afternoon to set up game stations for the students to cycle through.  They will get treats, make little crafts and art projects, and of course have some fun just socializing and getting out of the regular afternoon instruction!   Planning is done, but it is now the execution that I need to make sure goes smoothly.  Wish me luck! 🙂
