I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone!  Hope you are all enjoying your day and classes are going well.  It is always a bit of a sad day when a great late night holiday lands on a weekday, like this Halloween did, especially because we have all been working so hard during school and will need to get work done and wake up for classes again tomorrow.  Some of you may be brave and venture out tonight looking for some Halloween treats and entertainment.  If so, there are a few different events you can most definitely check out:

Pizza Luce: They will be hosting their “Walking the Dead” Halloween party complete with 3 costume contests, drink specials, and live entertainment.  There is a $5.00 cover at the door.  A great annual celebration to check out if you have never attended before.

Beaners: At Beaners coffee shop in West Duluth, there will be open mic complete with a costume contest and lots of fabulous prizes up for a grabs beginning at 7:00 pm.

Tycoons:  This year, the bar will be hosting a Paranormal Activity Halloween Bash with costume contest, eery decorations and events, drink specials, and live music and entertainment.  Tickets are $8.00 and festivities begin at 9:15 pm.

For those of you who have classes tomorrow and will be spending your night in watching scary movies and enjoying some down time, I am with you!  Some awesome classic Halloween movies to rent, stream on Netflix, or scan the tv channels for are:

  • It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
  • Hocus Pocus
  • The Witches
  • Halloweentown 1 and 2! 🙂
  • Halloween
  • Freddy Krueger
  • It
  • Casper
  • Beetlejuice

If you are with your roommates, make some special drinks or treats to share and enjoy hunkering down and having a night in.  Have some candy nearby for yourselves and for whatever stray trick or treaters may come looking for candy!
