    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

First Week Full Time!

I am a full time student teacher as of yesterday, and let me tell you, it feels pretty darn good.  I actually had a really smooth day yesterday and the kids responded very well to the activities that were set up for them.  We capped off Dr. Seuss week by reading the ABC book and finishing our Dr. Seuss multimedia art projects (which are adorable, might I say!).  We also played a lot of “catch up” yesterday on a variety of writing activities and letter-themed activities that we had not quite had a chance to complete yet.  The kids did great with it and were very cooperative in the process.

What else…Oh!  They took their final test as a part of my TPA segment and the majority did very very well.  I had to help out a few of them by using concrete objects to help represent the problems, but with this opportunity, most were able to figure it out much better.  Now what is the plan?  Well, Saint Patrick’s Day and Easter, of course!  I am just starting to get things prepared for more and more green-themed activities and fun.  This week, we will be talking a lot about rainbows and making streamer projects with rainbow colors as well as rainbows leading to a pot of gold.  I love talking about the beautiful benefits and sights of spring!

I hope everyone is having a stupendous week so far and that the weekend goes well!  Be safe if you are going out and as mom would say, please make good decisions!  😉
