    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Fall :)

The leaves are changing and the temperatures are becoming cooler.  Fall is definitely upon us!  In addition to the wonderful smell of pumpkins, apples, and cinnamon that this season tends to entail, the beautiful changing colors of the trees and crisp nature views are what really sets fall apart from the other seasons.  In Duluth, there is always lots to do and see during this time of the year.  Make the most of it and enjoy some of Duluth’s scenic views and events for the fall season!

  • Take a ride!  Duluth has scenic roadways that feature the changing trees while giving awesome views of Lake Superior.  Skyline Parkway and Hwy 61 that lines the North Shore are awesome avenues to explore!
  • Check out the orchard.  There are several different apple orchards that grow fresh produce of fall, including pumpkins, apples, squash, and the like in the Duluth area.  The UMD Heritage Orchard; Where the Bees Are; and Gardens, Bees, and Chicks are all local farms/produce locations.
  • Enjoy a fall festival.  Oktoberfest will be commencing this weekend (beginning with celebrations at local restaurant and eateries and in later weeks featuring live music, beer, and food in the Bayfront).  Also, corn mazes and other fall festivities will be starting up soon, so don’t miss out on them!
  • Take a walk.  The lakewalk near downtown Duluth is a great place to see the changing colors and Superior while enjoying the crisp breeze off the lake.
