    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Enjoy it While You Have It!

I am finally home after making the drive up yesterday, but I will unfortunately only be able to stay until early tomorrow afternoon.  I will have to return to school to start getting ready for the upcoming week teaching and for Monday (which we don’t have off in the public school districts anymore).  I know that when I was growing up, schools always received at least Good Friday and Easter Monday off of school to celebrate the Easter season.  Even public schools up here get those days off still, and of course religious-based schools and universities (like Saint Scholastica) receive these days as well.  Yet, the large public districts and universities (like that of Duluth) have school regularly and don’t have any days off for this holiday in our modern school system.  All this to say: You lucky ducks who have been off of school since Thursday afternoon, I hope you have been enjoying some fabulous time with your families and friends!  It is such a special time of the year and with all that hard work, you certainly deserve to relax.

If you are traveling this weekend, drive safe!  That rain and ice is making for difficult travel, so plan ahead and make sure you have care emergency gear on hand…just in case!   Have a great Saturday 🙂
