    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Cool Summer Activities

The last two days we have seen some cooler temperatures in the 60s…which is a little bit chillier than we have been experiencing lately.  This is obviously not ideal tanning or swimming weather, which is a bit of a bummer, but there are still tons of other things to do with the sun and zero humidity.

– Take a long walk in the woods or across town.  Plan to stop and enjoy the scenes as you go, and soak up the rays!

-Read a book under a tree (bring a snack or a drink with you!).

-Go shopping at an outdoor mall.  You can enjoy the sun and still participate in a little retail therapy!

-Explore local state parks or monuments.  Lighthouses and the boardwalk are always fun places to check out in Duluth.

-Bake cookies…and eat them!

-Get a group of friends together and play a pick-up game.  Basketball, soccer, and volleyball are always fun in the summer.

-Paint a picture outdoors or use nature as inspiration for your work.

-Work it out.  Take a run in your neighborhood and bring a friend to chat with along the way.

-Have a summer movie marathon.  If you’re feeling creative, set up a projector outside so you can watch them in the nice weather.

-Clean and organize your vehicle.  It’s a mess after moving!
