    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

College Recollections: Day 5

Last official day of college business before graduation!  I have my portfolio presentation to the Education Department this afternoon, and then after 5:00, I will be officially done with coursework for the semester and ready to receive my degree on Sunday.  I don’t think that the reality of graduation has really truly set in with me yet (and I’m sure there are many other graduating students who don’t feel like it’s real yet either!), but I am sure once we are all in our robes on Sunday ready to walk the stage it will all become a reality!

Today, I want to give a giant thanks to the college for:

The Wellness Center

I love this place and will miss having free gym membership when I graduate!  It has always been a wonderful gathering space to meet friends and get in a good workout when stressed with the ups and downs of life.

  • Getting filmed for the FollowMe blog while running the upper track.
  • Dancing everyday for a week straight in the upstairs studio.
  • Talking to my favorite student employees at the front desk rather than using my time productively between classes.
  • Watching basketball games in the Reif.
  • Attending Johnny Holms concerts and carnivals in the Reif.
  • Having girl talks in the women’s locker room.
  • Playing on the climbing wall during P.E. Methods class.
  • Watching youth soccer clinics on the courts while running the track.

So many good times spent here.  Thanks for the wonderful resource and amazing experiences!
