    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

College Recollections: Day 2

Happy Sunday!  For all you seniors, I hope you enjoyed your final “non-grad weekend” Saturday.  It feels so weird, doesn’t it?  I had a lot of fun ditching the Duluth scene for the night and going out to Cloquet to watch one of my best friend’s moms play music with her band.  It was really a great time and quite laid back in comparison to those downtown Duluth locales!  Lots of country songs, blues, and rock and roll oldies that got a lot of people, both young and old, up dancing.  It was a blast to kick up my heels and dance along with my favorite buddies.

Going along with the theme, one thing that I will miss a lot about Scholastica is just that:

  • Taking random trips to Walmart in Superior at 12:30 am (shoutout to Kim, my freshman roommate!)
  • Getting “kidnapped” and taken to Pawn America to look for movies while in the middle of studying for a final
  • Dancing around each of the dorm wings with my bestie and the laptop blaring Soldier Boy
  • Running outside in sweatpants at 4 in the morning for a fire emergency
  • Having support getting through all of the difficult classes through the year and knowing that we would come out stronger
  • Sitting in President’s Hall typing up science notes after pulling an all nighter
  • Going to the Johnny Holm dance
  • HUGS
  • ETC ETC ETC….this list could probably go on for another 12 pages

Thank you to all who have been there for me throughout the last 4 years of my life.  I love you and you have been invaluable to me.
