    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

College Recollections: Day 1

I would just like to say congratulations to the senior class today.  Congratulations for reaching our very last free Saturday before graduation.  Next weekend at this time, we will be spending time packing up all of our belongings, getting ready to go to the senior celebration, and figuring out our plans for the ceremony the very next day.  It’s crazy to think how fast these last 4 years have flown by and how we are at this point in our lives already.  It’s exciting and scary all at the same time!

I was thinking about what I should blog about for this upcoming week (my final week to really participate in blogging at the college), and I have determined that for this week, I am going to post each day about something that I find particularly memorable or noteworthy about the college in my last 4 years spent here.  So for today’s post, I am devoting it to:

Gathering Places: I.e. The Union/Housing Commons

I have countless memories of the Student Union over the years, and just as many of our dorm and apartment commons areas.

  • Meeting friends after long days of classes
  • Having flash dances to random peoples’ computers inbetween classes
  • Attending late night coffee house sessions
  • People watching
  • Baking cookies and doing laundry simultaneously
  • Pulling all nighters and ordering Erberts and Gerberts at 2:00 am
  • Etc etc

These places of gathering will not be forgotten in my mind!
