    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Brrr…it’s spring this week?!

Can you believe it?  Spring will already be upon us on Wednesday, and it is currently zero degrees outside.  Sheesh!  We should be getting some more snow early this week, too, just to make our springtime a little more festive.  haha.  Ah well.  I am working on my teaching plans for this week right now, as a matter of fact, and wow do we have a crazy week in store.  Starting tomorrow, the kiddos and I will be celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day.  We are going to enjoy some of my favorite traditions from when I was growing up, including putting our shoes out in the hallway to see if a leprechaun leaves any special surprises in them.  We are also going on a gold coin scavenger hunt around the classroom, which will be both crazy and educational!  Tuesday is our one normal day this week, and then we have another crazy day on Wednesday with the science crew Minnaqua coming to visit the kids and talking about Lions and Lambs and spring weather.

On Thursday, I return to teaching dance classes for a month while one of my coworkers rests up and gets ready to have her second baby.  So excited for her!  And finally, once Friday rolls around, the kids don’t even have to be at school!  Instead, the teachers will all be getting ready for Kindergarten Round-up, where we meet all of the new and incoming young faces to kindergarten and greet them and their families.  We do fun activities, show them around the school, and provide bus tours for students to see how the process of using and boarding the bus works.

It will surely be a crazy and hectic week for me, but I am confident that I can handle it and that it will be score one…yet again 🙂
