    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

It’s funny how every birthday feels like just another day!  haha.  I spent Tuesday going to classes and attending field experience…then topped it off by doing homework.  The only thing that set this birthday aside from the others was my ability to drink!  However, due to the fact that my birthday landed on a lovely weekday this year, I did not spend a whole lot of time out in the bars celebrating (as is the obvious custom).  Despite how many people would feel about this, though, I was very much okay with it.  I got to have a couple drinks with my close friends and spent a nice night watching a movie with them.

In all honesty, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.  Sure, going out and getting a little crazy would have had its perks, but I will be legal for the REST OF MY LIFE.  haha!  There will be plenty of time between now and then to have nights on the town.  I think many people forget about this, especially on their birthdays.  They get caught up in the moment, have a little too much fun, and spend the rest of their night and most of the next day hovering around the bathroom and sleeping.  However, everyone has their priorities in life and their own set of goals, so I say “to each his own.”  Just remember that the big “21” brings about a lot of new responsibilities and consequences, so think through your actions as you travel down the path of life.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day and week so far! 🙂
