    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

A Weekend of Drama

No, not the typical high school and college social “drama.”  Performance drama!  There are TONS of musicals and plays to check out this weekend, one of which is taking place and featuring students right here on campus.  Pride and Prejudice opens (starting tonight) with a FREE showing of the play.  I highly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and check it out.  If not, there will be other showings throughout the weekend, as well.  Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm, and Sunday at 2:00 pm.

However, there are many other local performances going on this weekend in the Duluth area, too.

A Chorus Line: Taking place at the Duluth Playhouse on Friday night at 7:30 pm.  This musical is the perfect marriage of theatrical dance and story through song.  This musical served as one of the key inspirations for instructing dance that I have today.

Panic: This mystery-themed play is showing at the Manion Theater in Superior and is being put on by Superior’s University Theatre.  It promises to be a mind-bending performance and begins at 7:30 pm on Friday, as well.

Cinderella: At the Marshall Performing Arts Center over at UMD, this wonderful musical will be taking place and showcasing the talent of our neighboring college students.  It begins at 7:30 pm on Friday, but also runs through the weekend, and should promise to be a magical retelling of the beloved fairytale.

Check one out if you can!  They all sound amazing and good luck to all of the cast members in each of these performances.
