    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

2012: What to Expect

Every year we hear various interesting, yet unreliable, predictions about what is to come in the New Year.  2012, of course, is a bit unique.  Everyone has predicted for decades that 2012 would bring about the “end of the world.”  I, however, have always believed this to be just another publicity stunt.  The world will continue to keep spinning…just as it always has.  And, assuming that it does, what exactly can we expect or predict will happen on the other side of New Year’s Eve?  Well, some experts (or what are at least referred to as experts) have released their projections, which I will share with you.

According to Hugh Hewitt (the Hugh Hewitt Show):

  • Mitt Romney will be the GOP nominee for the upcoming election, with Rubio as the Vice Presidential nominee.  The two will win the presidency.
  • The California housing market will boom.
  • The movie Act of Valor will bring about multitudes of SEALS recruits.

According to Dana Perino (Fox New’s The Five):

  • Justin Bieber’s voice will break.
  • There will be another Kardashian Wedding…and it will go relatively unnoticed.

According to John Derbyshire (Unknown Quantity: A Real and Imaginary History of Algebra):

  • Public protests, weather, and unemployment will get worse.
  • Political corruption and firearm sales will get better.
  • College education and abortion will become less important issues.
  • Jails, family life, and vocational training will become more important.

We can only wait and see who has correctly predicted what is to come in the upcoming year…
