    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

2012: Recap

As 2013 begins, I spent a little time reflecting on the last year of my life and what challenges, events, and accomplishments that I experienced.  Some of them were super joyous and exciting, while others were quite difficult and sad.  Despite the crazy ups and downs, this year has definitely been one to remember:

January

  • 2nd semester as a junior in college, began dating a close friend, and began the second half of the season teaching dance

February

  • Attended many late night get-togethers to listen to friends jam on their guitars, built up my watercolor painting portfolio, and received confirmation of a family member stricken with COPD

March

  • Had a rough break up, became consumed with Biology and Education Methods homework, and spent time with my closest girlfriends

April

  • Finished up massive projects in my classes, enjoyed a blessed Easter at home with my family, and left school for a night to see the birth of my God son

May

  • Completed my junior year of school, packed up my apartment, and began working full time as a manager at my summer job

June

  • Worked…Worked…Worked.  Made lots of money and studied for my first MTLE, which I couldn’t attend due to the flood in Duluth.

July

  • Worked….again. Took my first MTLE and passed with flying colors, and had my best friend come up to Ely to celebrate the fourth with me!

August

  • Worked even more. Took my second MTLE and passed, and met a new special guy in my life.  Had a close friend commit suicide. 🙁

September

  • Off to begin my senior year of college, turned 22 years old and got to go out with my favorite ladies frequently!

October

  • Had another close high school friend pass away, got sick with strep for a week, judged a Halloween dance competition and went out for a crazy Halloween celebration with close friends

November

  • Celebrated Thanksgiving at home with my family and relatives, met a guy (who ended up being not so good news), completed my final field experience of my college career

December

  • Completed final coursework of senior year, went to a ridiculous work-related Christmas party in Rapids, spent two weeks enjoying home and family, got sick on New Years Eve and fell asleep in my bed at midnight!

Lots of ups…and definitely quite a few downs!  Yet, all in all, for me I would say it has been an okay year 🙂
