    Brooke's Bio:
I came to Duluth because I love the city, and this small school has a home-like feel. I play volleyball here and have other interests in listening to music, being outdoors and hanging out with friends. I like to stay active as much as I can, and I don't think I'll have any problem finding something to do in this amazing city. After graduation, I want to enroll in CSS’ Physician Assistant graduate program.

Last First Friday Donuts

by / May 4th, 2018 / No Comments »
Student Senate is so generous and gives away FREE donuts the first Friday of every month.  Personally, I can't eat donuts, but I know that some people live for the first Friday donuts.  I'm blogging while looking into their office, which is located in Storms Den.  They have boxes on boxes of donuts right now, and people keep filtering through.  I think that they also provide cookies and other sorts of breakfast treats, but it's such a good idea.  I have some friends that are on Student Senate, and they really love being a representation of the student body.  They have a say in where some of the budgeting goes, some events that occur, and honestly I don't really know what else.  If you are a donut person, I suggest you hurry to the Student Senate office because they are being eaten like crazy!!

Last Lab Day

by / May 3rd, 2018 / No Comments »
Today was the last day of labs for my undergrad studies, and I'm a little sad about it.  At first, as a freshmen I didn't really like labs because they were a lot of work.  We always had pre-labs and a notebook to upkeep.  It doesn't seem like a lot of work, but when you have two labs and four or five other classes with equal demands for homework, it gets to be a lot.  I honestly don't even know how I survived my undergrad studies without dying because this semester has been such a breeze.  I used to take 18 credits every semester, plus volleyball and work, so I never really had any free time.  These days have been pretty chill, and I'm really thankful that I'm ending this way. It's a bittersweet feeling to be done with 3 of my classes already for the year, and tomorrow is the last official day of classes!!! My friends keep asking me how I feel about it, and I'm not really sure how I feel anymore.  Everything is happening so fast, and before I know it I'll be graduated and in the working world.  I hope everyone else is getting excited for summer though!!!

Baseball Games

by / May 2nd, 2018 / No Comments »
One of my favorite parts about spring finally rolling through Duluth is that I get to go to some of the Saint's Baseball games.  For whatever reason, I find their games so fun to watch.  This could be partly because I'm friends with a lot of them, partly because the environment at their stadium is fun, partly because they are pretty good, and partly because I love the music that is played.  Obviously, there are a lot of reasons for my enjoyment of watching Saints Baseball.  I have spent probably way too much time at the Wade Stadium cheering them on and not enough time studying, but for some reason I'm not really worried about my finals this year.  I feel like every other semester has been so difficult that this semester feels like a breeze.  Also, I'm so close to being done with my undergrad that I think that is in the back of my mind.  I'm looking forward to going to a couple of more games before the end of the year rolls around, and I hope that some other people can catch some of the beautiful rays that Duluth is blessing us!

Graduation

by / May 1st, 2018 / No Comments »
Well as scary as it is to say, Graduation is already next Saturday!! I have been so excited about my new job and new life that will be beginning that I never really thought about all the scary things that are ahead of me.  For one, I'm really sad to be leaving my friends that I have grown so close with.  All of them will be in school for the next two years, and I'm not really sure where life will take me by that point.  Also, I will just be in a new place with new people, which is a scary thought.  I'm a fairly friendly person, but it is always intimidating having to find new friends.  There are a lot of things to look forward to in the next two weeks, but also a lot of weird changes will be happening.  Stay tuned for updates!!!

Last CHOICES Event

by / April 30th, 2018 / No Comments »
Last weekend was the last CHOICES Event of the year.  I would say that it was a successful year for CHOICES as we hosted so many events and lots of students participated in them.  I think that our plan next year is to have less events but the events will be bigger and more fun.  It will also be nice because it will be less work to have to plan so many events all the time.  CHOICES is all about alcohol and drug-free events, promoting healthy choices for CSS Athletics and the rest of the school population.  This year was our second year, and I think we were more successful in getting our name out there, and people are starting to understand it all a little better.  Next year, there are 3 new representatives of CHOICES, and I'm looking forward to see where they take it!!
