    Ari's Bio:
I was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I came to the U.S when I was adopted at the age of six months, and have remained here ever since. A key characteristic in my personality is my love of being social. I am extremely outgoing and energetic and I love to stay active. One of my more expensive, but definitely most enjoyable, hobbies is traveling. I believe everything happens for a reason and a quote by Henry David Thoreau says it best: Never look back unless you are planning to go that way. Live Large And Love Life.

Phase Two Complete!

I just finished with the most intense of all the interviews in the ARM selection process. I sat down with the executive staff of Residential Life and we discussed my object of community and what it would mean to be apart of the Res Life staff. For my object I brought a copy of the front page of the Duluth News Tribune. I explained that the paper was a way for the community to stay informed on events that are going on in the community as well as ways they may be able to help a neighbor out. I told about the woman on the front page who donated her time to knitting gloves, hats, and scarves so that she could give them to individuals who didn’t have them. It was a grand gesture of kindness that was witnessed by many in the community, and through her actions and the publication of her actions the goal is to inspire others to give back in any way that they can (just as she had). I was surprised to hear at the end of my description that it was the first time they had ever seen someone bring in a newspaper. I was thrilled! Only one more step to go!
