I was born and raised in the Twin Ports area and am the youngest of five kids. I always wait until the last minute to do really important things (bad habit). In my spare time I love to dance and was on the Dance Team here at CSS.

Preparing for Recital

I got a second job in Hermantown at the beginning of September at Elite Dance Productions, and this Saturday is the annual recital. Today my students had their last class before dress-rehearsal and recital  (both on Saturday). It has been a long and stressful, but incredibly rewarding year, and I love watching the dancers grow each week. From the start of the year until now, they are in a completely different place, and that makes me so happy as an instructor! I was fortunate that EDP was so close to campus, and my school and dance team scheduled worked with the job. Since I will be living in Duluth this summer, I hope I can continue to give lessons and continue my position at Elite this next school year, too. The recital is at the DECC which is down in the Canal area. I think it’ll be a really exciting production, and I can’t wait to watch them perform in such a big venue. Having this job was really nice because it gave me a chance to get off campus and a change of scenery each week! One could go weeks without leaving campus, especially if one lives in the dorms, has a meal plan, and/or doesn’t have a car. Having a reason to leave each week is a good study break and a good way to get more experience in the work world, too, so I would definitely encourage it!
