Lucky Draw
I feel like I should go buy a lottery ticket because I am feeling especially lucky today! Today is the day that we found out about our lottery placement for housing next week. I was at work when the email sent out, and two current freshman got it about a minute before I did. That was a really long minute because their numbers were sky high and they knew that they probably wouldn’t have a chance to get into the building that they, and almost everyone else, wanted (Cedar). When my email came I anxiously opened it and saw that I was number SIX! I could not believe my luck considering I have never really gotten lucky with things like this before! Since I had the lowest number out of all my future roommates, I am now the person who logs on and signs us up for the room that we want to be in. We are hoping to get into the first floor of Cedar because then it will be easy to move into and Cedar is a really nice building. I read this huge PDF of instructions that Res Life sent out, and I am ready to sign up right away at 9:15 AM tomorrow. Every fifteen minutes, the next 25 numbers get to log on and do the same thing, so I have to be fast! I am a little nervous, not because I don’t think we will get in, but because I don’t want to accidentally mess it up! I will be glad when it is all over tomorrow and I for sure know my housing placement and that all the roommates I want will be there! It is one more step to ending my first year as a freshman and I am really looking forward to living in an actual apartment. Now I just need to learn to cook over the summer… Hopefully I get lucky with that too!
