I was born and raised in the Twin Ports area and am the youngest of five kids. I always wait until the last minute to do really important things (bad habit). In my spare time I love to dance and was on the Dance Team here at CSS.

Homecoming Week

Well, tomorrow marks the first day of Homecoming Week, and I have to say that it really flew up on me this year. There has been so much going on, that Homecoming has been put on the back burner, but now it’s ready to go front and center! There are a lot of activities planned for this week – one for at least each day. Since it is an election year this year, our theme is Storm for President. Along with that theme, homecoming week is kicked off tomorrow with a “Storm the Vote” which is being held in the student union. Students can register to vote, and learn some information about their ballot. On Tuesday, we have the AirJam which is a lip-sync battle contest. Last year, it was hilarious, and I have no doubt it will be again. Wednesday is a day where there is a stuff-a-bear event, and students can make their own bears. Thursday, we have a hypnotist, and then Friday is a huge day… HUGE! We will finally be inaugurating our new president, Dr. Colette Geary. There will be Mass in the morning, and her installation ceremony will follow. I have had the opportunity to talk to Dr. Geary, and she seems like the real deal. Our College has not had a female president in about 50 years, I think, so I am really excited about that, too! I am interested to see what changes she makes to the school and its policies. Then, Friday night, we have the talent show which I, along with the Dance Team, will be performing at. I am really nervous, but more so excited. We also have a parade and tailgate party on the day of the Homecoming football game. I love that there is so much we can do, and I didn’t even mention all the activities planned for students, staff, and faculty. I am so excited for everything this week has to offer, and I am working ahead in all my classes so I can thoroughly enjoy my Homecoming this year!
