    My name is Tayler and I was an English major/biology minor at the College of St. Scholastica! I have lived in Duluth all of my life so I know all the best local restaurants and hiking trails. On campus, I was involved with The Cable, Bella Voce, the Northstar Reports, the McNair Scholars Program, Student Support Services, and the English & Arts Club. Off campus, I volunteered with Mentor Duluth and enjoy throwing theme parties with friends and family.

Personal Trainer Week Two

Last week I met with my personal trainer from the PT program, Allissah. We did several tests to gage where I am physically including weight, height, and body fat measurements as well as flexibility, strength, and cardio tests. Then we took some time to discuss my fitness goals. These include losing ten pounds, being able to run a 5k under 40 minutes without walking, and improving my overall strength and flexibility. Based on my personal goals and how I did on my tests, Allissah has put together a fitness routine that I need to keep track of and report to her. On WF I do cardio, abs, and rock climbing. On TR I do arm, back, shoulder, and leg workouts. Monday’s are for swing dancing and rock climbing and my weekends are free. Being a part of this program has already drastically improved my motivation to exercise. Having to report to Allissah and hear her feedback keeps me accountable. Additionally, a few of us in the program share our workout successes with each other in a Facebook group message. This also helps me because when I am feeling proud of my work I get a pluthora of support in the form of “good job!” And arm muscle emojis. Participating in Saints Marathon and Climb Mount Everest Have also helped because it’s more people I have to report for. It also adds variety into my workout because I’m doing these in addition to Allissah’s workout plans. Basically, I am going to be so fit. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
