McNair Scholars Banquet

The McNair Scholars Program has been immensely important to my success as a college student. Being first generation and low income comes with many challenges: obvious ones such as finding funding and some less obvious ones. Today, my McNair cohort celebrated the end of our research and our upcoming graduation together. Scholars invited family and faculty to celebrate in our successes. It was fun hearing the summaries of my cohorts research projects as well as learning what this years cohort plans to research over the summer. I was most surprised and honored by being recognized with this years McNair Scholar Professional Award. I earned this award for attending research conferences, submitting my abstract beyond what was required of me, and representing the College of St. Scholastica and the McNair Scholars Program with professionalism and dignity. I am so thankful for the immense support I received from my family, faculty mentor, and McNair Advisors!
