Spring Student Activities Fair

Wednesday, February 7th, 2018

Today various clubs and organizations were nestled in the Student Union sharing information about their activities and conversing with gathering crowds of students interested in joining (or in the snacks available!). I passed the Union twice during the Fair and each time, it was quite a sight as students jostled to visit at least 8 clubs/organizations to in order to be put in a drawing for cool CSS gear and apparel. Some students, including me, were more comfortable and felt at home around the lemonade and cookies… The Activities Fair is a great way for students to learn about ways they can be active on campus and different communities they can join and be part of.

WellU at Student Activities Fair

Thursday, September 14th, 2017

Many clubs and organizations on campus converge each year at the Student Activities Fair to recruit “new blood”, get more contacts, distribute candy, spread awareness about causes, advertise events and much more! The Fair is held in the Benedictine Commons and and attracts a lot of students seeking to be involved on campus and beyond. Yesterday I went to the Fair, primarily to share about WellU programs and events as well as get more people to know about wellness and health resources available on campus.

Crochet and Knit Club

Wednesday, October 12th, 2016

Tonight we had our second Crochet and Knit Club meeting of the year. We had a huge group our first meeting, but found ourselves with a much smaller amount this meeting. New clubs can be difficult to keep afloat because we need to constantly being drawing in people and presenting a club that makes people want to come back. A lot of clubs have been established in the school for a while now, so they have rapport with the students and there’s enough past student to build stories from. I have to start a new marketing scheme for the club and develop more activities for the meetings if I want to keep us afloat.

First Crochet & Knit Club Meeting

Wednesday, September 28th, 2016

Tonight was the first Crochet & Knit Club meetng of the year! I’m the V.P. and last year honestly we had a pretty small turnout. This year however, holy crap, we had so many people come! We’ve actually given out so much yarn that we need to go buy more. We started off the night with some pumping music while everyone came in. Everyone grabbed some candy and introduced themselves and said what childhood toy they would be. After explaining the basis of the club, we broke into knitters and crocheters and the President and I taught the separate groups how to get started! My crocheters are slowly getting the hang of it, but by the next meeting they’ll be halfway done with their scarves I bet!
