The Occupational Therapy program is well known in the OT world. I have 4 supervisors who have graduated from the program. It has been fun to talk with them because we have had the same teachers! I have heard nothing but good things about the program.

All the Experiences

Tuesday, October 6th, 2015

I have been able to experience many different settings that OT’s can work in just during my experience here. I have seen outpatient adults, pediatrics, inpatient adults, and mental health. Being in a place where you can see a variety of things is a beneficial experience. It helps me start to figure out what area I want to be in.

Home Life

Monday, October 5th, 2015

Living at home is a wonderful thing, especially when you are completing an unpaid internship. Having a free place to stay, home cooked meals on the table, and laundry services are hard to beat. It is a transition from living on your own, having your own schedule and doing your own thing- that’s for sure. Granted I wouldn’t change it for anything. I love my family and are very appreciative for all they have done and the support they have given me.

Level II Fieldwork

Monday, October 5th, 2015

Week 1 is done. It is the start of my 2nd week in Hutchinson at an Orthopedic Rehab center. Everyone is very willing to teach and help me learn what I need to know while I am here on this experience. One week done, 11 more to go.

2 Weeks Left

Saturday, September 5th, 2015

There is only 2 weeks left at my first fieldwork experience. The past 10 weeks went by very fast. I’ve started to finally feel comfortable and understand the routine at the clinic. My education at CSS has helped me with the book knowledge, but I also need the clinical experience to gain the full Occupational Therapy procedure/role. Thanks to my CSS fieldwork supervisor,  I was able to be paced in this pediatric setting.
