Farewell Party for OIP Director!

A few weeks ago, the International Student Community got an announcement from Alison Champeaux, the Office of International Programs Director, that she was completing her career at CSS, after 15 years of service! Alison has been very instrumental in improving the lives of many international students coming to the US and studying at CSS. To celebrate Alison’s time and work in the Office of International Programs here at St. Scholastica, the OIP office hosted a farewell party on Saturday, May 5. Many students in attendance shared their various encounters with Alison and the impact she had on their college careers and beyond. I am thankful for Alison and all that she has done for the CSS community! She will be missed.

International Education Week

This week, there will be much pomp and fanfare as we celebrate the International community on campus through a series of events. This past weekend, Office of IInternational Programs organized trips to the mall to give students the opportunity to get off campus and go shopping. I look forward to the events coming up this week especially the potluck and international-themed lunch at GDR!

Career workshop for international students

The Office of International Programs recently organized a workshop to help acquaint international students with immigration policies and school policies regarding work on or off campus. In addition to this, students got to learn from Mary Anderson, Director of Career Services, as well as a panel of international students who have completed internships or research. I was part of the panel and felt honored to contribute to the experiences of fellow international students looking to develop their career portfolio.
