SUPerior Paddle Boarding

Tuesday, June 27th, 2017

My girlfriend got me the coolest birthday gift last week. She got us set up with SUPerior Paddle Boarding to participate in their Sunrise Solstice Paddle at Brighton Beach. The event was affordable and an experience I will never forget. The lake is a major part what makes Duluth what it is and I thought this was a neat idea to have a little adventure that incorporated Lake Superior. Not to mention it was on the longest day of the year, the summer solstice, also known as my birthday!

Beautiful Duluth

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016

If you’ve ever been to Duluth, you know that Skyline Parkway is known to have some of the most incredible views out over Duluth and Lake Superior. Often times after class I will swing along Skyline Parkway on my way home and pull over to take in the spectacular view. This photo was taken last week looking south into the sunset.

Nothing Short of Incredible

Sunday, November 6th, 2016

My little weekend in Bournemouth has been nothing short of incredible. The little wonders of the world that hide away here are even more spectacular that I had imagined, and I have been pleasantly surprised by what each day has presented me. My time here thus far has been overwhelmingly refreshing in the best of ways. Today, I reacquainted myself with the water and the earth on a walk to the Old Harry Rocks in Studland, UK. Tomorrow, I will make my way to Durdle Door, another fantastic spot. I am lost for words to describe the way the ocean, earth, and trees make me feel. Since leaving Duluth, I have deeply missed my neighbor, the Lake. In the presence of the elements, I have reset my inner balance. I am able to breathe more deeply again, and I am reminded of what it truly means to be alive.

This Tuesday, I went down to Canal Park and treated myself to a beautiful short walk along the shore! Midweek crisis resolved!

Outdoor Nation Challenge

Thursday, September 29th, 2016

The Outdoor Nation On-Campus Challenge is going on at the College of St. Scholastica. Colleges from all over the United States are competing for awesome prizes by uploading photos of their awesome outdoor adventures on the Outdoor Nation App. Last year, I submitted a real gem of me after I fell waist deep in Chester Creek during one of my hikes. This year, I am submitting a lot of Pokemon hunting on the lakewalk, disc golfing, and rock climbing. The challenge is open from September 4th-October 15th and there are daily prizes for individuals and large prizes for the campuses. At CSS, Outdoor Pursuit is even offering discounts to student clubs wanting to plan fun outdoor activities to help get more students involved in the event. The best part? You don’t have to attend St. Scholastica to support the school, potential students, alumni, and community members are all welcome as well. So download the app and get uploading those pictures to help CSS win the challenge!
