Canal Trip

Wednesday, June 21st, 2017

Today Upward Bound went to Canal Park as a group. We ate at Old Chicago and then split off into groups for our own interests. A few of my students and I collected sea glass at the beach. While we were sitting there, a giant wave came and knocked into us (okay, it was a foot tall) and washed away most of my sea glass. Nevertheless, we collected even more and brought back quite a few handfuls.

Adventure Zone Night

Friday, April 28th, 2017

Tonight I had downtown. We started off at Pizza Luce and made our way to Adventure Zone. Last weekend, we went to Improv and tried to go to Pizza Luce afterward, but it was carry-out only due to a concert. So we had to get out Luce fix this weekend! When we got to Adventure Zone, I think we were both pretty tired. We got $10 worth of games and tested out each other’s arcade skills. At the end of the night, we had a big bouncy ball, fake mustaches, and caramel apple suckers. It was a pretty successful night on the town for me!

Duluth Spring Weekend

Sunday, April 23rd, 2017

This weekend was filled with a lot of adventure and activity. The weather was absolutely beautiful for all kinds of outdoor plans. Below are a few pictures that I captured this weekend as I enjoyed the outdoors in Duluth with my friends and girlfriend. With such great spring weather I am excited for summer to get here…we might have to wait a few weeks. The weather outlook is showing 3-5 inches of snow on Thursday. Crazy how you can get a sunburn one day in Duluth and a couple days later you have to put your snow boots back on!

Movie Night!

Friday, February 24th, 2017

Last night after working at Caribou on my edTPA, I met up with some of my friends at Vitta Pizza. Afterward, we took advantage of student discount tickets at the theater because it’s Thursday. Woot woot to Thursday $5 movies and free popcorn! I had been dying to see the Lego Batman movie, which did not disappoint. With my student teaching schedule (and sleeping schedule), I really haven’t had time to fit in many social things, specifically with my friends who have opposite schedules of me. Because I’m on break, I’ve had way more time. It feels amazing to reconnect with friends, but I’m also a little sad because it’s the end of break and I’ll be back to the old schedule again.
