The Spidey Mentalism Show

Wednesday, September 6th, 2017

Tonight a mentalist known as Spidy came to perform and it was so much fun to watch him. He seemed so into what he was doing and it was a lot of fun to see how all the different tricks worked out. I really loved the little bit of hypnotism he did at the very end as well as the trick where he played Pictionary with a “spirit” and had the spirit draw the picture and you could actually hear the chalk writing all the way from the audience. It was just so cool and really worth a visit.

Space Movie Night

Sunday, April 30th, 2017

Tonight for Mayfest there was a showing of the movies Space Between Us and Star Wars: Rogue One in the science building. It was really kind of surprising how few people showed up for both of the movies. I could kind of understand it because there was a lot of other things going on but I think for both movies there were less than 15 people. The movies Space Between Us was pretty much how I was expecting it for it being basically and teen romance movie, so it was very cheesy. I was much more excited to see Rogue One because I wanted to see it back in December but every day while it was in theaters it was sold out in my town so I never got to see it until tonight. And with the small audience was especially surprising for Rogue One because there was only about 8 of us who stayed and watched the whole movie. I really liked Rogue One for the most part and it definitely worked for a Star Wars movie. The only thing that really bugged me was the ending of the movie because they really only needed like 5 more minutes to perfectly tie it together with Star Wars: New Hope, and because it was such a small difference it was kind of annoying.

Deal or No Deal

Thursday, April 27th, 2017

Deal or No Deal was my all time favorite television game shows back when I used to watch a lot of Tv. I always imagined myself being the one playing the game in front of everyone. I would also pretend to be playing the game by thinking of what case I would choose. Yesterday, Saint Scholastica had its very own deal or no deal. Students were randomly selected to play the game where they could have won up to $500. Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to be called up. I was there for three games and I had a great time. One person was offered $150 but she rejected it because she thought her case #6 had $300. After rejecting $150, she had the opportunity to choose her case #6 or the other case with only $.25. She kept her case and it was the quarter. I felt bad for her but I would have done the same thing. Overall, It was a great evening. I plan to come to future deal or no deal games so that I could possibly win someday.
