Official Master’s Degree

The other day, I receive this very expensive paper in the mail! The first year I applied to physical therapy school, I ended up getting waitlisted, and ultimately did not get into any PT schools that year. My back up plan was attending the Master’s of Science in Exercise Physiology program at Scholastica. This was a one year accelerated program with the requirement of completing a 400 hour internship after we graduated. Since, I got into PT school the summer after I graduated the Master’s program, I didn’t do the internship right away and ended up completing it this last school year while I was finishing up classroom work for PT school.

It was kind of a struggle to figure out how to fit it into my PT schedule since this internship needed to 8 credits, no one had completed it while being in PT school, and I didn’t want to do it after I was done with PT school.

Here’s how I worked it out: I took signed up for 4 credits of the internship summer semester 2016 and 4 credits of the internship summer semester 2017. Then I actually did my internship hours during the fall 2016 and spring 2017 semesters. I worked with the CSS softball team as the strength and conditioning/assistant coach.
