Finishing my Fall Internship

Man was I really dragging my feet leaving after my internship in Glenwood. Throughout this internship I was living with my dad’s godparents, Don and Darlene. I was really comfortable here and I feel that as soon as you start to get in your own rhythm and used to how things are, the internship is over and it’s time to pack up and head to the next one.

Highlights:

  • I got to spend quality time with Don and Darlene eating delicious suppers with them, watching the Voice together every week,  and playing games.
  • I made a new friend who showed me more of the hidden gems of Glenwood and brought me out of my shell, even was willing to teach me how to drive a manual car (been on my bucket list for a while) and introduced me to trivia night
  • I met some new people and had fun hanging out with a new crowd
  • Was part of a wonderful therapy team with a potential for a future job opportunity, continued mentorship and connections.
  • I got to live on lake Minnewaska while I was there

My family and I usually spend a week or two up at Don and Darlene’s during the summer, but we really only stay on the lake while we are here so it was nice to live here during the fall and get to experience more of the everyday life of this area. It’s safe to say I will really miss it here.
