A Road to Recovery

So, my earlier post was before surgery and now I want to talk a little bit about how it was returning to school after I had surgery. I ended up having surgery in the cities (Abbott Northwestern) so I could be close to home and stay at my parent’s house while I recovered and they could help me (it was sooooo nice and I am glad they were so helpful during this whole process). I ended up having surgery the week after spring break and missed about a week of school recovering at home.

Before I had surgery, I was able to attend classes for 3 days before I had to go back down to the cities. This way, I was able to talk to each of my professors about what I would be missing, get assignments, and get everything situated for when I would be gone. ALL of my professors in the physical therapy program were very understanding and supportive. That is one of the many things I LOVE about the physical therapy program at CSS. Everyone has been so helpful throughout all aspects of the program.

Here is what my incision looked like a month after surgery.
