    Jesse's Bio:
I graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and am now in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program here at CSS. I played on the baseball team at CSS for four years. I was also a statistics tutor and currently work as personal care assistant in Duluth. I love the outdoors, hunting fishing, hiking, etc. While being at St. Scholastica I have noticed the “family” atmosphere and I am truly enjoying every second of it.

Run to Ely’s Peak…and Back

My girlfriend and I are currently in the midst of training for the Superior Spring Trail 50K Race and Grandma’s Marathon. We decided to do a 16 mile trail training run along the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT). We started by the Lake Superior Zoo and made the 8 mile run to Ely’s Peak and then turned around and headed back. It took us around 4.5 hours, but it was a beautiful day and I considered it a “glorified hike”.

Check out the expansive SHT system that runs through Duluth and beyond. Get outdoors and enjoy the fact that nature is right in Duluth’s back door. Also look into Grandma’s Marathon Weekend and the Spring Superior Races up the north shore.

Once we got to the top of Ely’s Peak there was another couple up there that were willing to take a photo for us. We were able to wipe the sweat and fatigue off our faces for a quick smile prior to returning to the trail.

This is a photo of my girlfriend and I contemplating our 8 mile run out to Ely’s Peak and the thought of running 8 miles back to the car.
