    Jesse's Bio:
I graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and am now in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program here at CSS. I played on the baseball team at CSS for four years. I was also a statistics tutor and currently work as personal care assistant in Duluth. I love the outdoors, hunting fishing, hiking, etc. While being at St. Scholastica I have noticed the “family” atmosphere and I am truly enjoying every second of it.

Lake Superior College Dental Clinic

For those that are not from the area, like myself, and need a little dental work (cleaning, x-rays, sealants, etc.) the Lake Superior College (LSC) Dental Hygienist Program provides a discounted clinic. I went for the first time today since I have noticed a slight discoloration in one of my teeth =(

After a full work up, I was told my pearly whites were in great condition, as were my gums. However, they also took an x-ray of that darn tooth I went in for and the results revealed a dying tooth…and that means I need a root canal. Somewhere along the lines within the past few years of baseball, intramurals, rough-housing with roommates and brothers, that tooth took a pretty good blow and has been slowly dying ever since. I just recently noted the color change and heat sensitivity, which are two common signs to a dying/dead tooth.

Thankfully, I was able to get into the dental hygienist clinic at LSC and get the image I needed to confirm my fear before the situation worsened. Nice to know there is a place to go for dental care that is cost-efficient for a student whose primary dentist is over 500 miles away. Not to mention, it gives the dental hygienist students some practice at their craft. Now on to find an endodontist in the area.
