    Jesse's Bio:
I graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and am now in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program here at CSS. I played on the baseball team at CSS for four years. I was also a statistics tutor and currently work as personal care assistant in Duluth. I love the outdoors, hunting fishing, hiking, etc. While being at St. Scholastica I have noticed the “family” atmosphere and I am truly enjoying every second of it.

DPT Year 3 Summer Classes

Holy cow! This is the first time I’ve said, “Year 3”, in regards to PT school. I am currently wrapping up my second year in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Beginning May 22, 2017 I will start my 3rd year within the program. The summer I session is from May 22 – June 29. We will be taking 3 courses for a total of 6 credits prior to heading off on our terminal internships. The classes include:

PTH 7412 Administration and Advocacy – Focuses on issues related to strategic planning, marketing, and quality assurance/outcomes assessment. Continued application of legal and ethical issues related to provision of physical therapy services.

PTH 7568 Lifespan Application II: Geriatrics – Entry-level approach to providing physical therapy services to geriatric patients/clients in a variety of settings. Application of the patient/ client management model is specific to this population. Legal, legislative, and ethical issues pertinent to geriatric patients/clients are discussed.

PTH 7913 Patient Client Management IV – Integration of program course work with clinical practice, emphasizing the continuum of care across the life span and in multiple practice settings. The patient/client management model is applied to various cases with additional emphasis on physical therapists’ roles as advocates, administrators, consultants and teachers. Readiness for clinical internship is demonstrated through competence in core knowledge, clinical skills and professionalism.
