    Courtney's Bio:
    I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

What is Sleep?

I think my body is having a hard time adjusting to student teaching. I’ve always been inclined to staying up too late, but now I have to get up early (some days I attempt to get up before 5, key word: attempt). It’s been weird adjusting to a “big girl” time schedule and bed time. I am exhausted by 8ish and am asleep by 9:30. Everyone else I know is staying up way later than that; my roommate even stays up until 1! I feel because of my early bed time I have been missing out on opportunities for socializing. Like on Valentines, some of my friends went out to dinner and to a movie, but they didn’t get off work until 8. Any late night plans I just can’t participate in for the sake of having enough sleep to make it through a school day. Lately I’ve been noticing my body retaliating though; I’ve slept through 3 alarms this week or fallen back asleep after attempting to wake up. Luckily I haven’t actually slept through all my alarms or winded up late for anything. I do definitely think my body is screaming, “YOU ARE A NIGHT OWL.”
