    Courtney's Bio:
I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

Using VoiceThread

For one of my graduate courses, Foundations of Literacy, we do weekly assignments through a thing called “VoiceThread”. VoiceThread is like a online discussion board, but you can either post written, audio, or video comments about whatever. Almost every week we have to post our video/audio response addressing that week’s article or videos. I like the concept, but it is really confusing. You can record your response and it will be available for others to see, however my professor can’t grade it until it’s completely “submitted”. The assignment submission button doesn’t actually show up on my screen unless I exit VoiceThread and reenter it. I don’t know if I’m just having technical issues or if that’s a normal thing with it. Overall, it’s kind of nice to hear others’ voices; it makes our online “classroom” more real.
