Anime Detour, All Too Real

It’s been almost a week since I set off to attend my first ever Con! It was spectacular on so many levels. I feel I learned to appreciate my own quiet way of nerding out to my favorite things though.

The long three days of being crowded into a building with other nerds, was exhausting even for the most outgoing of us. The early mornings and extremely late nights were so draining for me that by the end I was just happy to leave.

On Saturday I cosplayed, that is, I dressed up as one of my favorite characters from an anime. I was an obscure character that shows up briefly in one episode, and surprisingly most of the people who were fans of that show actually knew who I was! I am thankful I picked the middle day to dress up. Travelling leaves one tired and gives me the feeling of being too big for my skin. Having to dress up after being in a car for 3 hours doesn’t sound appealing. Saturday morning I woke up early to don my costume and wig and went out to show the world my nerd badge!

I purchased some amazing Steven Universe goodies and lots of tasty treats. I also got to support some fantastic local Minnesotan artists in the process.

Now I get to watch my shows, imagine my own story lines, and draw some really cool art of my own for the next year. No pressure, just good vibes.

Daifuku and Fuwa Fuwa, just two of the many delicious foods I tried!
